Picnic in the Park

Spouse wanted to have a picnic tonight, but since we had no picnic basket, I balked. Goodwill to the rescue! He found a never-used (tag still on, utensils still sealed) basket with plates, cups and utensils. So I prepped a meal and off we went to Dorchester Heights with a blanket and food.

Here is Spouse relaxing before the meal.

Sure is sunny!

Spouse confirms the time of the historical places bike ride he's going on tonight (it's midnight-6am and goes 30 miles)

And if you're interested, the meal was a caprese salad (tomato, basil and onion all local), oven chips with salt and rosemary (local potato), carrot and leek gratin and cod poached in proseco with rosemary, garlic and lemongrass.

It has been so long since I have found the time to comment on others blogs, what with my move and all. This looked like it was a fun day. Sometimes I miss the city. I hope your hubby's bike tour was a success.

The bike tour started with over 300 people and ended with about 50, one of which was Spouse!

I'm only just getting back into reading my favourite blogs (life issues that ACTION was not nearly enough for, but we won't bring up that discussion again) and have a lot of catching up to do on yours. I feel like I'm catching up with old friends just be reading your and Jitterbug's back posts

I am glad and welcome back old friend. Congrats to your hubby, that is amazing! I hope your 'life issues' are ironed out or in the least not too insane. Maybe some day in the future we could meet in the real world, a trip to Beantown for tea, one never knows.

I'm still playing catchup on blogs and saw your Victory Week campaign! I bought on UK rations (for various years) for a few months and found it actually quite easy. I did, however, have copies of the Ministry of Food pamphlets for the time though, so that make cooking on a ration quite easy.

I would love to meet you for tea sometime!

Looks like you had a good time in the park. I'll have to make the meal, thanks for the tip.

The London Trip - LONG POST

The Doc and I had the following email exchange yesterday: The Doc: I just noticed, I can't find your England Report on your blog, you say you will tell people what happened but I can't find the actual info Teru: Hmm, I should put that up, shouldn't I The Doc: Only if you want to go into details about your booty call ;-) Teru: Hmmm, I'm still uncertain about how much information I want to share on the web. It might get me more readers though :) The Doc: Don't mind what you tell people, let them know how badly I was at sex, I don't care... tell them how you got ill and had to be cared for. tell them about the time I ran out of money and had to ask for NTL to put my money back into my account. you have my consent. Anything you want. But most importantly of all you MUST tell people how much I love you, and how much I smiled and how much we kissed in public. Oh and don't forget the meet and the reading bit. Since he said I could tell all, so

The machine works!

I replaced the belt on the sewing machine last night, fired it up and she works a treat! I still haven't oiled anything yet, but I'm already planning a real, non-hankie project. I just ordered this skirt from Davenport and Company in Springfield. Fantastic email customer service by they way if you ever decide to order anything. This looks like it should be easy enough for me to muck about with using whatever fabric I can find around the house before I go buy something nice. The next project I'm contemplating is a vintage jumper with an Ubuntu logo embroidered on it for spouse. That will probably take a while though, and I still have a few other things to finish first. I promise I'll get the pictures of the tea cozies I made over Christmas plus the one I'm working on now.

And so it begins again
